I finally decided that borrowing equipment isn’t going to get me anywhere and mustered up the courage to buy my own camera. So on February 14 of this year I did. I got myself a Canon Kiss X4 on Valentines. Quite the pun, but I could care less. I finally had my own camera. I was so excited that I started this photo challenge. Unfortunately, my day job and schedule didn’t allot me much time and the project stopped just after 10 days. Now however, I’m going full throttle. Begin and begin again. So I once again introduce myself to the challenge:
A Photo A Day
My love for photography deserves a second chance. Since the death of my Nikon F80 in the Ondoy flood in the Philippines and the rise of the digital photography trend, I told myself I’d give up. It’s been years, but I still love it. I cannot deny that I am still drawn to the art of finding light in an experience and capturing it on frame. Though my skill might be rusty now, the passion is still there. This little project will capture my everyday as I explore my love for Photography once more.
March 1, 2012. No coffee. Just tea for me, please? Trying out my 50mm F1.8 prime lens, and taken a few nights before.
March 2, 2012. The sun finally decides to shine on Hong Kong, and even the gloomiest of places seem golden.
March 3, 2012. 4pm and still in bed on a cool and foggy Saturday afternoon. Ahhh yes. This is the life!
March 4, 2012. ‘My sister is weird,’ Vera’s thinking. Focus fail, better luck next time!
March 5, 2012. My brother, the saint, at his study.
March 6, 2011. The start of the long (almost) 2 hour journey home from a busy day at work. Be prepared to turn into sardines, try to stay as comfy as possible, keep yourself distracted, it’s going to be a long ride.
March 7, 2012. After healing mass, outside the church, the pavements were clear.
You have made known to me the path of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand. – Psalm 16:11
March 8, 2012. Branding. Haha! Lovely dinner and dessert. Three chocolate fondants for three hungry ladies.
March 9, 2012. Long week. But find something to smile about, and smiles will find you. Buskers having fun and playing music on the walkway to the train station.
March 10, 2012. A day of countless blessings. From early morning, throughout the whole silent retreat, and until the very last minute of the day. Truly blessed. And still receiving all kinds of gifts even three weeks after my birthday. Thank you for the lovely talks, lovely dinner, lovely company, and lovely flowers. It was said to me that the flowers were carefully chosen as my color (the lavender flower) is just about to blossom.
March 11, 2012. Timing. After yesterday, because of today’s cold weather, and looking at the week ahead, I decided it was best to conserve energy and stay home. This was my companion for the entire day (and a photo just for the sake of taking a photo).
